Options analytics for Alpaca
your keys, your browser, your data
If you already have an Alpaca account, you have everything needed for serious options analysis — the chain, the Greeks, the open interest. What is missing is the layer that turns it into gamma exposure, payoff surfaces and expected moves. That is what this is, and it runs entirely in your browser on keys that never reach our server.
What it adds to an Alpaca account
Alpaca gives you the raw material — contracts, quotes, Greeks, open interest. Turning that into a view you can act on means computing dealer positioning, payoff surfaces and expected moves across the whole chain. That is the layer this provides, and it runs client-side.
How the connection works
Requests go straight from your browser to Alpaca. Nothing routes through our servers, and the settings-sync endpoint refuses payloads matching a secret-key pattern — so a key cannot be stored server-side even by accident.
Connect a key and this runs against your own chain in under a minute. Paper keys work identically, so there is nothing to fund and nothing to risk while you look.

These write up the parts that cost us real debugging time — the host split that 404s in silence, the response envelopes, and where the historical data actually begins.

Questions
Is GreeksView affiliated with Alpaca?
No. It is an independent tool that connects to your Alpaca account using API keys you create and control. GreeksView is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Alpaca Markets. Alpaca is a trademark of its respective owner.
Do my Alpaca API keys go to your server?
No. Keys are held in your browser and requests go directly from your browser to Alpaca. The sync endpoint actively refuses anything matching a secret-key pattern, so a key cannot be stored server-side even by mistake.
Does it work with Alpaca paper trading keys?
Yes, identically — the chain, the Greeks and the analytics all come from the same market-data host in both modes. Only the trading host differs.
What does it cost?
There is a free tier with no time limit and no card required. You bring your own Alpaca keys, so there is no market-data markup.
What Alpaca plan do I need for options data?
The free iex feed is enough for chains, Greeks and gamma exposure. A paid sip entitlement gives consolidated-tape pricing but is not required.
Point it at your own Alpaca account
Full option chains, live Greeks, gamma exposure and payoff modelling — computed in your browser on your own API keys. Paper keys work identically, and nothing you hold ever reaches our server.
